Thorough coverage of the basics Nov 14, 1998
By Sara The only caveat I have about this book is that it was written in 1996, and some of the info is dated (IIS 2 info, for instance) That being said, this is a terrific book, and puts together all the info you'll need, from TCP/IP basics to security issues and network topology. It got me up to speed really quickly. Now, let's see a new and revised edition!!
Outstanding! Very Thorough! Oct 30, 1997
By bhead@mis.net Tom Sheldon's writing style is very easy to read. While he covers several subjects, including basic setup of Windows NT along with IIS, the information is very usable to a new NT Administrator. Tom's coverage of TCP/IP is particularly useful, and he thoroughly explains subnetting and how to use TCP/IP addressing in Appendix C. Overall this is a very useful book and one that can be referred to often to troubleshoot Windows NT and IIS problems.
