Not for people with macular degeneration Jun 23, 2009 This puzzle book was very disappointing. I and my sister have maccular degeneration and found the fonts were too small. The Puzzle grid was large but the clues we could not read with our +10 eyeglasses but had to use our stand magnifier. Which defeats the whole purpose of the Large Print crossword puzzle. We can read regular puzzles with our stand magnifiers. but it gets uncom after awhile. I also had bought the "WEBSTERS LARGE PRINT CROSSWORD PUZZLES" and that book was just right for using our eyeglasses. From now on I will stay away from the Ny Times Puzzzles as they all have the same size type. Those puzzles are for people with normal eyseight and just use reading glasses. I hope this review will help the Visually impaired find the right book.
NYT puzzles Jan 05, 2007 For a person who loves the NYT puzzles but found herself squinting and sometimes using a magnifying glass to finish a puzzle- this was the answer.
The puzzles are great and the print is so relaxing. I keep one book next to my favorite chair and the other next to my bed.

Great Stuff!! Nov 30, 2005 I bought a BUNCH of these large print New York Times Crossword books for my Mom including this one. She was ardent about solving them and felt they helped her in maintaining her mental powers. I would have to agree on that. The large print really IS large and seemed too big to me at first but they were easier for her to savor and work on at her own pace. They also have puzzles you can subscribe to and receive through the mail. I was surprized and delighted during a visit to see that she and a friend worked on them together. They're a terrific resource for an aging parent and well worth the price for the stimulation !!
