The Mammoth Book of Kakuro, Wordoku, and Super Sudoku: Best New Japanese Puzzles

Solved exactly like Sudoku, Wordoku uses numbers instead of letters — with an added literary twist. In each starting puzzle, one row or column is highlighted. By completing the puzzle through normal sudoku techniques, you can discover the witty 9-letter word or phrase hidden in that row or column. The Mammoth Book of Wordoku features puzzles that vary in difficulty just like normal Sudoku, according to the number of 'givens,' letters already in place when you begin the puzzle.

5Great Puzzles  Dec 29, 2008
I am an avid Kakuro player, and the puzzles in this book are great. Not many books include no double solution Kakuros. And I found none in this one.

I also found the Tenketsu puzzles extremely enjoyable. I had never seen this puzzle, and have yet to find it anywhere else. A search in Amazon only returned this book in the results list.

Hope some master puzzle-maker reads this and gives us a Tenketsu book.

2alright but not what wanted  Jan 18, 2008
I thought this was a bit different than what it turned out to be. Was only interested in one or two of the puzzles

3Entertaining puzzles, terrible binding  Nov 21, 2006
This book has lots of kakuru puzzles and other puzzles that were new to me. I would say I am an advanced medium puzzle solver, and I have enjoyed the puzzles, but you must be warned, the book's binding is very poor. A page fell out on the day the book arrived. About a dozen have fallen out so far. I am not hard on books; the book was not mistreated.
