Well thought out publication! May 02, 2010 An exceedingly well produced book! I have purchased and enjoyed the entire Sudoku series, and am now working my way through this Kakuro series. When one pays for published puzzles, as opposed to downloading free puzzles, one expects well crafted, single solution, enjoyable puzzles. Not only does this publication meet the mark, it does so on eye-friendly, pencil-friendly paper, with a comfortable-in-the-hand binding. Admittedly, I'm a paper snob. I dislike newsprint as it clogs erasers and is difficult to read in low lighting. Puzzlewright has met all my expectations and preferences with this book, in an affordable and pleasing format. Well done!
Great series for the Kakuro lover Feb 01, 2010 I've bought almost all of the Kakuro books on Amazon (only skipped most of the "easy" ones) The "Martial Arts" series is by far the best. Very well categorized by level. And within each of the books the puzzles are carefully selected to be increasingly challenging. Having seen too many puzzle books that are just "thrown together", one has to appreciate the editors of this one taking care in producing a sensible order. I just finished "Brown Belt Kakuro", and am now starting the "Black Belt" level.
Great Kakuro book Dec 15, 2009 This is a fun book for an avid Kakuro puzzle solver. The puzzles are very challenging without requiring a long time to solve each one. I'm guessing now, but I would say I solved most of the puzzles in 15-30 minutes each. So, if you do one or two per day, well do the math, you've got 3 months or so of Kakuro fun. (If that's your thing - I enjoyed it) The Black Belt book is quite a bit more difficult after the first 50 or so puzzles. I am about half way through that one and each puzzle can require up to 40-45 minutes to solve - some only half that and some longer than that. Obviously, this is an individual thing, based on how many of these you have done, how quick you are, and how sleepy you may be that day. I highly recommend this book for Kakuro lovers. Novices should start with the White or Green Belt book before trying Brown Belt Kakuro.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys Jun 19, 2009 This is an excellent mid-level Kakuro book. For someone who's had some experience with Kakuro, the puzzles in this book range from slightly on the easier side to slightly on the mind-bending side in a steady progression from easy to hard. There are 150 puzzles with solutions. The first six puzzles are in 13x10 grids to get you warmed up. The rest are in 13x22 grids. There's a four-page introduction with solving tips and a page at the back that lists unique sums. I got hours of casual entertainment from this book over the course of three months. My favorite thing to do was see how much of a puzzle I could fill in before I had to start making notes. I'd love to see more books at this difficulty level. Highly recommended.

Challenging Kakuro Book Mar 02, 2009 I have found a lot of Kakuro books that are just not that challenging, or books that have 125 easy puzzles and 25 hard ones. I like that this series provides a consistent gradually increasing challenge.
